Club Covid–19 Secure Rules (Outdoor bowls)

  1. General

    1. Do not come to the club if you or any member of your household show any signs of a cold or flu-like symptoms, in particular a continuous cough, high temperature or loss or change to your sense of smell or taste (follow Gov. UK self-isolation guidelines).
    2. Spectators (maximum of 30) are allowed on the premises outdoors, but need to adhere to social distancing rules.
    3. Car sharing is permitted in accordance with government guidance.
    4. Please follow any notices and one-way systems when on Club premises.
    5. Face coverings should be worn at all times when indoors and regular use of hand sanitisers is recommended
    6. It is advisable to dress appropriately before you arrive to avoid the need to change clothes – change shoes immediately by the green before and after play. The changing rooms are open for minimal use (provision of first aid or access to essential equipment). No more than 6 participants from different households are allowed in at any one time and must observe social distancing rules. Face coverings should be worn at all times when indoors.
    7. Access to use the toilet and handwashing facilities will be allowed.
    8. Seating in the veranda can only be used by members/customers on the purchase of a drink or food from the bar or vending machine in accordance with hospitality guidance
    9. At all times social distancing rules must be maintained by people who do not live together (or share a support/childcare bubble).  
    10. In line with the NHS test & trace service you will be required to give your contact details; these will be kept for a period of 21 days.  Check in using the official NHS QR code is a quick and easy.
    11. Failure to comply with the guidelines may result in suspension.
  2. Hygiene

    1. Hand sanitiser and cleaning products will be available for cleaning hands and equipment.
    2. Wash or sanitise your hands before and after play.
    3. Before and after play always ensure that equipment is sanitised and cleaned.
    4. Avoid using the toilet if possible. Always wipe and clean down any surfaces you may have touched with cleaning products provided – taps, door handles etc. and wash hands thoroughly. 
    5. Bring own drinking water when the bar is closed (alcohol not permitted). You may use the vending machine in the veranda for hot beverages. Do not share food items, cups, plates etc. with anyone else  
  3. Booking Rinks

    1. Bowls must be pre-booked: -
      • Rinks booked via online rink booking system found on our website Wymondhamdell.com.
        If not online contact either Jean Webb or Averyl and Keith Richards
      • All bowler’s names must be provided (for NHS test & trace purposes). To enter names use the additional information box on the online booking page. Failure may result in cancellation.
        • Do not turn up for a session if you have not received confirmation of your booking.
        • No casual walk-ins permitted.
        • Should a rink not be needed please remember to cancel (otherwise you may be charged the rink fee).
    2. Bookings for next day bowling will close at 5.00pm (17:00 hrs) the day before. Bookings made after this time may result in cancellation.
    3. A maximum of 8 players per rink will be allowed for casual bowling/roll-up.
      (Number of bowlers on the green at any one time should not exceed 30).
    4. Any combination of formats may be played under the ‘organised sport’ exemption, up to 48 participants at any one time.
    5. Rink fees for a session will be £2.00 per player. £1.00 for 1 hour practice.
  4. Playing the Game

    1. Each player/team to have own jack & mat (yellow or white).  Before and after play ensure all equipment is sanitised.
    2. The Mat (yellow or white), should only be handled by the lead and skip for that team and not handled by anyone else.

    4. Do not shake hands or have any personal contact with another player (unless you are from the same household or support bubble) and avoid shouting or raising your voice when facing anyone.  Social distancing rules should be observed at all times.
    5. Do not touch or pick up another player’s bowls or oppositions jack/mat (please use your feet to move bowls and jacks).
    6. Do not use scoreboards, bowls pushers, 2m distance sticks and use only spray chalk.  If ditch markers are used ensure they are handled by the same two nominated players.
    7. Inter-club matches/County and National Competitions – scoreboards and 2m distance sticks may be used, ensuring they are handled by the same players.
    8. If sharing equipment, practise strict hand hygiene including sanitisation after use.
    9. Should measuring be necessary, players (or marker if used) must use their own equipment, avoiding contact with the players’ bowls and jack.
    10. Due to the restrictions on the use of changing rooms it is advisable to take your bowls and shoes home with you.
    11. After your game please change your shoes and immediately leave the premises, taking your bowls and shoes home with you.
    12. Once you are at home remember to wash your hands.
  5. Bar Lounge and Veranda Users

    1. Members using the Bar must wear a face covering on entering and leaving and only remove covering ONCE SEATED In the designated area of the lounge.
    2. In line with the NHS Test & Trace service you are required to give your contact details; these will be kept for 21 days. Checking in using the official NHS QR code is a quick and easy alternative.
    3. Table service will operate i.e. NO queuing at Bar. Please be patient if you have to wait to be served.
    4. Do not move tables or chairs. Observe social distancing rules at all times. People from different households must not meet in groups of larger than 6 and must not interact with any other group, even if you see other people you know.
    5. Only staff to collect and return empty glasses to the bar.
    6. Failure to observe safety measures will result in service not being provided.
